JANIS JOPLIN Monterey CONCERT CONTRACT -THREE WEEKS AFTER SHE JOINED BIG BROTHER

Description

A concert contract between Big Brother and the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin) and Karma Productions, for two shows at the Monterey Fairgrounds Dance Hall.
These shows took place just three weeks after Joplin joined Big Brother, and roughly a year before her breakout performance at the Monterey Pop Festival, also obviously in Monterey.
This is the band's carbon copy, identified in the top left corner as the 'Leader's Copy'.  It was filled out on behalf of the band by bassist and 'leader' Peter Albin.  It features the band members social security numbers, but we have blurred out those of surviving members Albin and David Getz on the scans, for their privacy (they are unaltered on the actual contract.)
